Samantha Sherer MDes
People call me a craftsperson, potter, ceramist, designer.... I’ve been a maker all my life.
I earned a BFA from NSCAD in 1994 and worked as a potter for many years, sometimes in Canada and sometimes in Asia or the Americas with indigenous crafts people.
I'm currently pursuing a PhD at Ryerson University in Toronto. I am investigating opportunities for digital and analog craft to contribute to conviviality and regenerative development.
My Master’s of Design research focussed on craft as a tool of circular economy. You can read more about it in thesis published in May 2018, Objects that Create Community: Effects of 3D Printing and Distributed Manufacturing beyond Circular Economy
